A very fine early Victorian oblong shaped antique silver gilt castle top vinaigrette made by Gervase Wheeler with initials engraved in the cartouche. The hinged lid depicts an applied scene of Windsor Castle and the engine turned base is surrounded by foliage borders. The hinged grill is pierced and engraved with scrolls and flowers and is gilt to match the inside of the box. This vinaigrette is in excellent original condition.
